A Rainy Yet Perfect Rincon Beach Resort Wedding in Puerto Rico
Some weddings remind me why I adore what I do, and this one was significant. When Alyssa first reached out, I was so happy to learn she’s the younger sister of my past bride, Ashley, whose intimate, sun-soaked Aguadilla microwedding remains one of my all-time favorites. While Ashley couldn’t be present this time, as she had just welcomed a new baby, her presence was felt throughout the day through video calls, emotional speeches, and the love that filled every room.
Their family’s warmth stayed with me, and returning to photograph another chapter of their story felt like coming full circle.
Rincon Beach Resort: The Perfect Setting for a Beach Wedding in Puerto Rico
The Rincon Beach Resort has long been a hidden gem when it comes to Puerto Rico’s beach wedding venues. It offers a balance of elegance and ease, with a peaceful coastal backdrop, ocean views, and lush palms, making it perfect for destination weddings.
Alyssa and Xavier’s celebration embodied all of that. Their color palette of soft earth tones and greens blended beautifully with the tropical surroundings. At the same time, the sounds of waves and strings from Cuerdasn set the tone for a romantic ceremony by the water.
A Love Story Years in the Making
Alyssa and Xavier met in high school in Philadelphia. From those early hallway conversations, they knew they had something special. Years later, after countless shared milestones, Puerto Rico became the perfect place to finally say “I do.” Though they weren’t born on the island, they both feel deeply connected to their roots and wanted their loved ones to experience that too.
Their story is one of friendship first, then unwavering partnership. You could see it in how they looked at each other throughout the day: calm, grounded, and entirely in sync.
Getting Ready at Rincon Beach Resort
The day started peacefully with details that reflected their personalities: tropical florals, a touch of gold in their stationery, and the sweetest wedding day gifts. While Xavier and his groomsmen got ready with relaxed laughter, Alyssa prepared in her suite surrounded by her parents, who shared an emotional first look before the ceremony.
From the moment she put on her gown, you could tell this was going to be one of those days where love triumphed over everything else.
When the Rain Joined the Guest List
Just as guests took their seats for the Rincon Beach Resort beachfront ceremony, the skies opened up. What could have been chaos turned into one of the most heartfelt moments of their day. Alyssa and Xavier didn’t flinch. They laughed, held hands, and continued their vows in a sea of glistening rain droplets, surrounded by family and friends cheering them on.
Their willingness to embrace the storm became the heartbeat of the day... Proof that joy isn’t dependent on perfect weather.
After a brief break indoors, we ventured out again for their newlywed portraits, and yes, it rained again. But those moody clouds gave us great cinematic light and even a bit of golden sunset.
Photographer’s Tip: Be Prepared for Everything
Puerto Rico’s weather can change in a heartbeat, especially at beachfront venues. One of Alyssa’s bridesmaids saved the day by pulling out a curling iron to revive the bride’s hair before the reception, and it looked flawless.
If you’re planning a beach wedding in Puerto Rico, add a minor curling or flat iron to your emergency kit. It’s a simple trick that can make all the difference when humidity or rain shows up uninvited!
Rincon Beach Resort Wedding: An Unforgettable Celebration
The reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, laughter, and one of my favorite surprises of the evening: a mariachi performance brought by Alyssa’s grandfather. His joy was contagious, and the moment added a touch of nostalgia and warmth that perfectly complemented the island energy of the day.
The rest of the night unfolded in a blur of dancing, hugs, and joy: a true family-centered celebration. Despite the rain, or maybe because of it, the day felt even more real, imperfectly perfect in every way.
As I packed my gear and looked out over the ballroom that night, I couldn’t help but smile. Alyssa and Xavier’s Rincon Beach Resort wedding was a beautiful reminder that love, family, and flexibility are what make a wedding unforgettable.
Thank you, Alyssa and Xavier, for trusting me with your memories, for embracing the storm, and for showing that sometimes, the most imperfect days become the most beautiful stories.
