Vero & Joel: Love Story @ Old San Juan

It is amazing how love is able to bring people together from completely distant and unexpected places. Joel has a Puertorican background, while Veronica’s family is from China. Fate or coincidence, the universe conspired so these two beautiful souls could fall in love.

They never thought the love of their lives was waiting for them next door, but it happened: they met one spring afternoon, while walking their dogs at their neighborhood. Soon their encounters turned into dog-walking dates, those outings developed to tennis matches, movie dates, and soon after they were madly in love. They became a couple on the first day of summer.

Afterwards these two lovebirds became inseparable: from the gym to shopping, they love to enjoy time together. It was obvious that the next step for Joel would be to propose. And he did it in the same park they first kissed (they are big fans of ‘firsts’!!). He brought together about 30 close family & friends together as a surprise for that big moment.

Then they decided to take some time to travel and meet each other’s roots. Last year they spent 2 weeks in China so they could discover the beautiful country that gave birth to her family. This holiday season, it was time for Joel to show his roots, and that’s where I got in the picture, literally! They contacted me a while before their trip because they wanted awesome vacation photos to celebrate their stay in Puerto Rico *and* their recent engagement!

I did a truly special tour for them, doing an extra-long walk through the magical city of Old San Juan, guess when: on the first day of Christmas! We stood for an extra half-hour just so we could take advantage of the holiday decorations… And it was worth it! They are sassy, flirty, fun, and I loved every minute I spent walking with them!

We took a specially busy day to visit the city, and I have to give special thanks to the guys at Café Don Ruiz, who were so helpful to lend us their storage area so V&J could change when we couldn’t find vacant restrooms due to the festivities. Huge shoutout for them! You guys rock (and make some awesome lattes, too).

Without further ado, I hope you enjoy scrolling through this session as much as I did shooting it. I hope to see you again in Puerto Rico (honeymoon pictures, maybe?).

XO,

Camille <3
