Renee & Andrew’s Wedding Weekend Extravaganza in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Love, laughter, and vibrant energy filled the air during Renee and Andrew's enchanting wedding weekend in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Their celebration was a three-day extravaganza with unforgettable moments, elegant events, tasty food, and heartfelt memories. Join me as I take you through their stunning wedding journey, from the welcome cocktail in Hotel Palacio Provincial to the grand ceremony at Hotel El Convento.
Day 1: Welcome Cocktail at Hotel Palacio Provincial
The festivities began on Friday evening with a delightful welcome cocktail party at the historic Hotel Palacio Provincial.
It was a laid-back event, but with electric energy as guests walked in, mingled, and enjoyed refreshing cocktails, churros, and tapas in the elegant courtyard. I've seen all kinds of wedding-related events at Hotel Palacio Provincial, and loved it every time.
The night set the tone for the weekend, combining the charm of Old San Juan with a modern, sophisticated vibe without unnecessary formalities.
Day 2: Rehearsal Dinner at Sur Barra Nikkei
Saturday night brought a unique twist to the traditional rehearsal dinner. Instead of a formal seated affair, Renee and Andrew hosted an intimate gathering at Sur Barra Nikkei, a Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant in Santurce.
Guests indulged in exquisite tapas-style seafood courses, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
The relaxed atmosphere allowed everyone to unwind and get acquainted, creating a warm and welcoming prelude to the big day.
Before I left, a waitress treated me to a ceviche. It was so good that I brought in my husband the following week for a tasting menu experience. Delicious.
Day 3: The Wedding Day at Hotel El Convento
As Renee and Andrew prepared for their wedding day, Sunday arrived with anticipation and excitement. The historic Hotel El Convento was the perfect backdrop for their love story, combining timeless elegance with picturesque views of Old San Juan.
My day started three hours before the ceremony at Reneé and Andrew's getting-ready suites. Since they were both staying on-site, both video and photography teams could switch back and forth between them to complete a thorough recounting and make the best use of our time.
When the bride and groom were ready, we moved them into one of El Convento's terraces for an intimate first look. After letting them have their exciting moment, we moved them through different outdoor Old San Juan areas for their couple portraits. Although many of these portraits were scheduled for after the ceremony, we were keeping an eye on rain, so we decided to secure all outdoor photography sooner rather than later.
Ceremony at Plazuela La Rogativa
The ceremony at Plazuela La Rogativa was a vision of romance, with vibrant decorations reflecting the couple's joyful spirit. We were so lucky that the rain never came, but it left an overcast sky that, although many would think less of it, was so helpful in shielding us from the hot afternoon April sun.
After the couple finished their rituals, a surprise performance by Yuvi Plena escorted us back to the hotel, adding a burst of cultural flair and filling the air with lively music and dance.
A Gorgeous reception at Salon Campeche, Hotel El Convento
The reception at Hotel El Convento seamlessly blended elegance and celebration. The era of vibrant, colorful weddings is here, and I loved Renee and Andrew's decor so much. It warmed and brightened the classical Campeche ballroom.
Every moment was filled with love and joy, from the heartfelt speeches to the energetic dance floor. Ricardo from Moi Chic's meticulous planning ensured that every detail was perfect, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
I connected with Renee very early in their wedding planning journey, and it was so exciting to build a trusting relationship and see their plans unfold into this majestic celebration. I'm honestly so happy and satisfied about the epic wedding weekend they celebrated with their loved ones, and the epic party that unfolded was the best evidence!
