A Quiet Escape at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
I first met Jacquelyn while we were both working at Jorge & Kristin's nautical wedding in Maryland—she was the bride’s hair and makeup artist, and I was photographing the day. We clicked instantly. So when I saw her name pop up in my inbox months later, asking if I was available for a her honeymoon photos in Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico, I lit up.
Jacquelyn and Kevin had recently gotten married and were finally taking the honeymoon they’d been dreaming of. These two beautiful souls live in Maryland but have a long love affair with Puerto Rico. It’s a place they’ve visited many times before, and for their honeymoon, it was the only destination that made sense. Familiar, warm, beautiful—and full of meaning.
Their time on the island was all about slowing down, reconnecting, and letting things flow naturally. We scheduled their session at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, one of the most idyllic locations in Puerto Rico for portraits, proposals, and weddings alike. I rarely get to work here, so I came in creatively recharged and ready to let the space guide us.
Tropical Trails and Beaches at This Wedding Resort in Dorado Beach PR
We started at the iconic tree near Spa Botánico, then followed the quiet natural trails as the skies slowly darkened. The clouds hung heavy above us, threatening rain—but somehow, it held off until we finished. The stormy skies only added to the dreamy mood. Their calm energy grounded the entire session, and their outfits—elegant and coordinated—stood out beautifully against the lush green and sandy tones.
Our final moments were spent on the beach, where the waves crashed louder and the wind picked up. It was cinematic and peaceful all at once. A reminder that while weddings are often fast-paced and full of logistics, honeymoon portraits offer space to exhale and just be—to soak in each other and the season you’re in.
Jacquelyn and Kevin, thank you for trusting me to celebrate this chapter with you. I’m so happy the universe kept the rain at bay and gave us just enough magic to bottle up in photographs.
xo,
Cami
