Gorgeous Bohemian Beach Wedding at Villa Orleans, Rincon

Kayla and Carlos met at a country bar while they were both being "wingmen" to their friends. While they weren't expecting to meet anyone that night, a regular hangout turned out to be the night they met their future spouse.

A Family Vacation in Puerto Rico that Turned into a Marriage Proposal

A year ago, Carlos brought Kayla to Puerto Rico so she could meet his grandparents for their 50-year wedding anniversary, which was also the perfect timing to propose! They were swimming in one of Puerto Rico's idyllic Caribbean beaches, when he popped the question. It was only natural that they'd marry in a beautiful beach setting in an island that meant so much for them.

Besides their choice of partner, K&C agreed that the venue was the thing most important to them. They wanted something beautiful, surrounded by nature, in an intimate setting their family could get to know each other. They chose a picturesque beach vacation rental called Villa Orleans. I had never been there before, but ever since me and my assistant set foot on it, we were swept away with the beautiful scenery.

The actual wedding afternoon was a bit overcast. It is somewhat usual for the west area of Puerto Rico to have a mid-afternoon shower, which usually dissipates quickly and opens up to beautiful sunsets. This was the case of K&C. They totally kept their cool and their only concern is that they were so eager to get married already!

A Perfect and Very Emotional Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony featured all the best-sellers: tears, custom-made vows, nervous laughter, applauses, people aww-ing in the audience, wedding photographers crying... Most couples go through the ceremony in a totally-normal state of shock or numbness. But in rare instances I see a couple like Kayla and Carlos: they were so present in that moment, they were putting raw emotions out there for everyone to feel. It was just perfect. And I cried. A lot.

After the Ceremony, quickly did the group and family portraits so guests could go enjoy the Cocktail Hour while we escaped to the beach for a beautiful newlywed photo session. The Reception area was beautifully decorated by Kayla (so talented!), she opted for a long, rectangular table where all the guests could eat together and get to know each other. The food was amazing, typical Puertorican cuisine... it tasted like Christmas to me! During dinner, every guest stood up to say a few words about the newlyweds. There was so much love in that dinner, I started tearing up again (thank God for waterproof mascara!!) After dinner, everyone just hung around the deck, or danced to some upbeat tunes under the stars.
