Michelle and her fiancée Ciaran live in the United Kingdom, so we met for the first time over a Skype session (blessed technology!). Then she told me all about her special vision for her wedding. She wasn’t too much into the idea to have a big, fancy wedding. Also, they did not want too much posing and stiff portraits. Instead they wanted something more spontaneous, carefree, relaxed… Right away, I knew we were a perfect match!

Bride and Groom Getting Ready at Coamo, Puerto Rico

I arrived to the Michelle’s parents home at Coamo at about 1pm. When I arrived everyone was stressed out because of hair and makeup and timing… Believe me. Every bride goes through the same craziness on the day-of. Don’t rush or stress it, I’ve been there a million times! So while Michelle finished getting ready I went to the patio -dreamy hammock included- and took pictures of all of the beautiful details the couple had planned for that day. Ciaran was getting ready there too, so when Michelle got dressed I even got to do a split-second first look footage for them.

Arys & Ciaran wanted to do pictures before the Ceremony. We were running a bit behind of the discussed schedule, and there was no one ready yet, except for the bride & groom. What did we do? Someone lent me a set of car keys, and I drove them through the countryside of Coamo scouting a picture spot. I was so excited my cheeks hurt! We did these photos so quickly, we even had time for a short stop at Los Baños de Coamo, Puerto Rico’s only thermal springs, which also have a resort and cute photo areas.

Wedding Reception at Villa Mar Azure, Peñuelas

We made it back to the home, switched cars, and everyone drove onto the Ceremony, performed at the quaint town church. The ceremony had such an offbeat, whimsical, and happy vibe! After the lavender throw exit, we all drove to Villa Mar Azure, which was unexpectedly beautiful place! After shooting all the tables, swooning at the Caribbean sea view, taking portraits at the beautiful dock… The reception started, not to be stopped by the rain we had later on. Everyone was so happy, casual, excited… it was a perfect wedding regardless of the rain.

I couldn’t have dreamed of a more beautiful day for them. This day definitely gave me a lot of ideas for my own wedding -not to happen yet, may I add?-
