A Laid-Back Celebration of Love and Family at Courtyard Isla Verde Beach Resort
When Emily and Alex decided to tie the knot, they envisioned a wedding day that reflected their relaxed personalities, prioritized family and embraced the beauty of a tropical paradise. Choosing the Courtyard Isla Verde Beach Resort in Puerto Rico as their wedding destination, they brought their dream celebration to life—a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
A Love Story That Brought Them to Courtyard Isla Verde Beach Resort
Born and raised in Texas, Emily and Alex come from big families and share a rich cultural background. Alex, a first-generation American with Mexican roots, and Emily, with German heritage, met at work and quickly realized they had something special. Alex's lighthearted humor perfectly complemented Emily's more grounded personality, forming a stronger bond over time.
Alex's proposal story is as adventurous and family-centered as their love. During a family vacation, he finally got Emily alone at a waterfall to pop the question after several hilarious failed attempts—a perfect prelude to the family-centered wedding they would later plan.
Their decision to host their wedding at the Courtyard Isla Verde Beach Resort in Puerto Rico was inspired by a desire to create a tropical getaway for themselves and their loved ones. They knew that this Isla Verde beach resort offered the perfect mix of natural beauty, convenience, and elegance for their celebration.
An Effortless Wedding Day at Courtyard Isla Verde Beach Resort
The Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort was an ideal setting for Emily and Alex's wedding. The beachfront ceremony location, framed by swaying palm trees and the sounds of the ocean, created a serene and intimate atmosphere. Emily's light and airy gown flowed beautifully in the ocean breeze, adding a touch of effortless elegance to the laid-back day.
The couple chose a "beach casual" dress code, encouraging guests to embrace Puerto Rico's tropical vibes. With the help of their planner, Alina Armesto, the day unfolded smoothly, from the getting-ready moments in their resort suites to the heartfelt vows exchanged under a floral arch adorned with vibrant roses. During the ceremony, Alex's 13-year-old son, Kevin, played a special role, and Emily surprised him with a heartfelt gift, symbolizing the blending of their family.
Family at the Heart of It All
For Emily and Alex, family was the center of their celebration. Their wedding day was filled with moments that celebrated their bond, from the laughter they shared during their first look to how they supported and grounded each other throughout the day. Alex's son's involvement in the ceremony highlighted their love and connection as a blended family.
Guests traveled from Texas and the Midwest to join the couple in Puerto Rico, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness. The newlyweds prioritized creating a stress-free experience for themselves and their loved ones. The day was not about perfection, but presence, and the couple's lighthearted approach helped everyone relax and enjoy the celebration.
Sunset Photos and a Night of Dancing
As the sun set over Isla Verde Beach, Emily and Alex stepped away for stunning newlywed portraits. The golden hour light and ocean backdrop provided the perfect setting to capture their first moments as husband and wife.
These images, taken on the sandy shores of the Courtyard Isla Verde Beach, perfectly encapsulated the tropical elegance of the day.
The reception at Las Brisas ballroom continued the celebration with casual yet lively energy. Guests enjoyed a night filled with laughter, delicious food, and music from Deejays Corp.
The heat of the Puerto Rican evening encouraged some guests to head back to their rooms for a quick outfit change, adding a fun and relaxed element to the festivities. The dance floor became the heart of the evening, with everyone embracing the casual, party-like atmosphere that Emily and Alex envisioned.
Emily and Alex were the best couple to get things started after I returned from the physically taxing trip to Perú. Yesterday, we were shooting on what felt like the hottest day ever; however, the heat didn't melt away their good spirits.
Thank you for the opportunity to celebrate your union and document your memories.
