Iconic Destination for Elopement Photography: Love at Castillo San Cristobal

At the beginning of the summer, I worked with a lovely couple, Cinthia and Diego. Unlike most of my elopement clients, they wanted to keep things simple, so they chose to wed back in their hometown, but taking their elopement photos in Puerto Rico.

As they were already visiting Puerto Rico for their honeymoon, they brought their wedding outfits and took their newlywed photos at the breathtaking Castillo San Cristóbal.

Elopement Photography in Castillo San Cristobal

Castillo San Cristóbal is an awe-inspiring and historic fortress that the Spanish built in the 16th century to protect the city from pirate attacks and imperial enemies.

It is one of Old San Juan's most iconic landmarks, blending history and stunning architectural beauty with the breathtaking view of the ocean, making it a perfect destination for weddings and elopements.

Do we need a permit for photos at Castillo San Cristobal?

A permit is mandatory to plan any event or photo session within the forts of Castillo San Cristobal or Castillo San Felipe del Morro. You can obtain more information by visiting the National Parks Service website or emailing: saju_permits@nps.gov.

We met in the late afternoon, just before the park closed to avoid morning crowds and temperatures, and after completing registration at the entrance, we began our photo shoot in the castle's main square.

Cinthia and Diego looked happy together, and capturing their love in images was a pure joy.

Then, we moved on to the different galleries of the fortress to take some breathtaking photos of the ocean views. Cinthia and Diego were incredibly photogenic and enjoyed posing for the pictures.

I value every one of my couples and the moments I capture for them. Cinthia and Diego's affection and gentleness were motivating and will stay with me forever. Let's seek love and tenderness in our lives with gratitude. 🙏✨
