Dreamy Micro-Wedding in Paradise: Ruinas de Aguadilla & Shacks Beach

Today on the blog I have Ashley and Troy's gorgeous microwedding at the Aguadilla Ruins in Borinquen Beach!

Ashley and Troy's love story began at work. They started out as friends but quickly became inseparable. They shared a love for travel, photography, and trying new beers and wines. It was clear to both that they had found something special in each other.

They knew it was meant to be when they moved in together just a week after officially dating. They loved their non-traditional lifestyle and were happy to embrace it. Their favorite ways to spend their free time were exploring unknown cities, trying new foods, and visiting breweries and wineries.

Troy knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Ashley and planned a unique proposal for her at their favorite winery. He proposed between the grape vines, surrounded by their closest friends. It was a beautiful moment that they will never forget.

Planning a Micro Wedding in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

When planning their wedding, Ashley and Troy knew they wanted something intimate and special. As a Puerto Rican, Ashley wanted to share her culture and the island's beauty with Troy. So they chose Puerto Rico for their destination wedding and fell in love with the picturesque Ruinas de Aguadilla for their ceremony.

The day started with Ashley's portraits at their Airbnb in Shacks Beach, followed by Troy's portraits and final arrangements. They then headed to the Ruinas del Faro for the ceremony.

Ruinas de Aguadilla

The ruins served as a historic and beautiful backdrop for their intimate ceremony, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Atlantic Ocean. As a Puerto Rico wedding photographer, capturing their love story in such a stunning location was an honor.

Ashley and Troy's favorite choice for their wedding was definitely the location they chose. It was the perfect reflection of their personalities and love for Puerto Rico.

The ceremony was held two hours before sunset, followed by family and group portraits. There were many combinations of newlyweds with their parents, immediate families, and wedding party. After the group photos, Ashley and Troy walked with me to the beach. We took their newlywed portraits, capturing the beautiful Puerto Rican scenery and setting sun.

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed a casual reception at a Shacks Beach Airbnb. It was the perfect spot for them to relax and spend quality time with their loved ones. They mingled, sipped cocktails, and watched the sunset over the beautiful Puerto Rican coast.

If you're considering a small destination wedding in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, take a cue from Ashley and Troy and consider Ruinas de Aguadilla and Shacks Beach for your ceremony and reception. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience.
