Kim & Brian embarked on a spring break cruise vacation, and their first stop was the enchanting Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Knowing they wanted to capture the magic of their engagement in a unique and vibrant setting, they searched for a photographer in Puerto Rico who offered engagement sessions.

Why Old San Juan? The Perfect Backdrop for an Engagement Session

Old San Juan is a place close to my heart. I've been walking its cobblestone streets since I was a little girl; my dad has always worked there, and I spent countless hours exploring its hidden alleys, colorful buildings, and picturesque streets.

When Kim & Brian told me they wanted their engagement session in Old San Juan, I was thrilled to guide them through some of the most iconic and lesser-known spots this historic city offers.

Having grown up in San Juan, my local knowledge was invaluable during Kim & Brian's engagement session. Our session occurred on Good Friday when the city came alive with tradition.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, Good Friday is marked by a Catholic tradition of peregrinating seven churches, and with San Juan boasting at least ten, the streets were bustling with visitors.

But, knowing the ins and outs of Old San Juan, I took Kim & Brian on a tour off the beaten path, allowing us to capture intimate and authentic moments without the crowds.

The session was one of my all-time favorites. It was a beautiful afternoon, with the weather just right—not too hot or cold. As we reached the session's final moments, a gentle drizzle began, and as the skies cleared, we were treated to a stunning sunset.

The cloudy skies added drama to the final shots, and we took full advantage of the golden hour light with El Morro serving as the perfect backdrop for their love story.
