Solanch and José's was my first Hacienda El Lago wedding in Cayey, Puerto Rico. There couldn't have been a better couple to inaugurate it.

I met the lovebirds through a referral from a previous client, for whom I also did hacienda wedding photography a few years ago. It's natural for super cool clients to bring in more cool clients, and in the case of Solanch and José, this was no exception.

Wedding Coordination and Planning During the Pandemic

The couple had set a summer 2021 date with hopes that the vaccination efforts would have begun to take effect, allowing them to have an "almost normal" wedding. Still, there was much uncertainty during the planning, so the event took its final shape close to the date.

Like many Puerto Rican weddings, José and Solanch's wedding had two locations: the first at the preparation hotel and then the ceremony and reception at the Hacienda. They did something very clever: they kept one room clean and tidy for photos and alternated their preparation in the other.

When it was time to take the pre-wedding photos, they rotated rooms while I stayed in the tidy room waiting for the other, without needing to clean or prepare two rooms.

When we finished all the photos, we got in the car. We headed towards Hacienda El Lago in Cayey for the most beautiful wedding! This location is perfect for those dreaming of a wedding by a lake or wanting to capture the magic of lake weddings. The Hacienda offers an impressive natural setting, ideal for creating unforgettable memories.

The day was cloudy and rainy, but it held off long enough to have a beautiful ceremony in the pergola area and take family photos and newlywed photos around the Hacienda. José and Solanch were pure sweetness in front of the camera: they were so happy to celebrate their wedding day that all their photos came out supernaturally.

Photo Session and Reception

The day became cloudier, and we knew it was the right time to end the session and move to the reception area. I photographed the bohemian, romantic, and rustic decor that perfectly matched the scenery. The rain refreshed the hot summer afternoon, creating a perfect atmosphere to enjoy and celebrate with family on such a beautiful evening.
