A Relaxed and Elegant Hacienda Karina Wedding in Aguada, Puerto Rico

I landed from WPPI 2005 Las Vegas and immediately went into one of the most heartfelt weddings I've photographed this year. Lorraine and Luis's celebration at Hacienda Karina wasn't just beautiful—it felt like coming home.

This was my first Hacienda Karina wedding, and I was immediately drawn to the venue's natural beauty. Between the towering trees, lush greenery, and spacious indoor venue, it was the perfect backdrop for a celebration that was equal parts elegant and down-to-earth.

But what truly made the day memorable was Lorraine and Luis themselves.

Getting Ready in Aguadilla: Quiet Joys and a Pup in a Dress

We began the day in an Airbnb in Aguadilla, where Lorraine got ready surrounded by her loved ones—and one very special guest, their beloved pup, dressed for the occasion. That quiet moment of her cuddling up in a robe, holding her furry companion with a smile that said everything... the perfect start to the day.

Her mom helped her into her gown, and before we left, we paused for a few portraits by the window—full of light, tenderness, and anticipation.

Meanwhile, Luis was the picture of calm, suited up in a classic tux and savoring a glass of whisky under the palm trees. Lorraine had told me he wasn't a fan of being photographed, but you'd never know it—he showed up for every moment with this signature charm.

A Heartfelt Outdoor Ceremony at Hacienda Karina

The ceremony site at Hacienda Karina was tucked between lush trees and soft green hills, with a view that stretched all the way to the sea. Guests arrived to a unique welcome: fresh coconut water (and for the brave, coconut water with a splash of whiskey), served by La Nieta. It was a fun, local touch that instantly set the tone for the afternoon.

Lorraine walked down the aisle with her mom by her side, her bouquet a delicate mix of soft peach and ivory tones.

Their ceremony was full of laughter, especially thanks to Luis's quick wit, and heartfelt moments shared between two families coming together.

When the confetti cannons went off after their kiss, it felt like the perfect celebration of who they were: fun, spontaneous, and deeply loved.

Portraits, Golden Hour, and the Party at Hacienda Karina, Aguada

We stayed in the ceremony space for family formals—quick and intentional—to move into their couple portraits while the light was just right.

We wandered through the trees and open spaces, capturing kisses, twirls, quiet hugs, and big laughs. Lorraine and Luis said they weren't "fluid with photos," but they nailed it.

The reception space was beautifully styled with cascading greenery, tall floral centerpieces, and soft candlelight that gave everything a warm glow.

I snuck in to photograph the details before the guests arrived—one of my favorite quiet parts of a wedding day.

From there, the night took off. Live music, great food, dancing, piña coladas, and the energy that only happens when a group of people truly comes to celebrate. Everyone—even the dessert table—was vibing.

A Celebration That Felt Like Family

I first met Lorraine through her sister Brigitte, whose wedding with my college friend Julian I had the joy of photographing almost a decade ago. Being here again, surrounded by familiar faces, felt like a full-circle moment.

The entire day felt warm, welcoming, and full of love—like being a long-lost cousin returning to a family celebration.

Everything flowed perfectly. It was one of those weddings where time disappears because you're fully present. And if that's not the best kind of wedding day, I don't know what is.

Lorraine's Review

Effortless, excellent

Camille was more than excellent. We really loved how she was able to capture the most natural pictures, that represents love, happiness and all the feelings we felt that day. She made our photography session effortless, comfortable and in a friendly environment.

She has a great eye for outdoor spaces. Since the beginning, Camille was very responsive, available, and her online platform is very organized and convenient.

The photographs were shared and ready so quickly. I am so glad we picked her as our photographer in our special day.

Recommend without hesitation.
