Jessica & Nathan’s Perfect Wedding at Hyatt Regency Rio Grande
I hadn't done wedding photography at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve in Rio Grande ever since it was called the Gran Melia. I was so happy to re-discover this beautiful wedding venue with the kindest of souls: Jessica and Nathan. We had to wait a little longer than intended for this one, as COVID meant we needed to choose two or three dates before one of them stuck. But it was worth it!
Bride & Groom Getting Ready Hyatt Regency In Rio Grande
One thing about the Hyatt Regency in Río Grande: it's gigantic! So if you're planning (or photographing) a wedding there, you need a solid timeline that allows for some movement between different suites. So we started at Jessica's bridal villa and photographed her and her bridesmaids.
Right before moving to Nathan's suite, we had a first look with Jessica's father. It was so emotional for him and their family to finally see her as a bride. We were so ready for this!
At Nathan's suite, he and his groomsmen were ready to go. Unfortunately, their suite was a bit dark, so we did most of their groom & groomsmen shoot outdoors, and then we took Nathan's to Jessica's villa for their first look.
BTW, if you're looking for cool groom, groomsmen, and best men gifts, check out my friends at Groomsday.
Rainy Wedding Day... No Biggie!
As the ceremony was about to start, a black cloud stopped right over the ceremony setup. We all walked back for cover, waited about 15 minutes, and then tried again. This time, the ceremony went out without a hitch. It was beautiful, romantic, and so emotional. Also, very windy!
But let's talk about that party! They put on a show for everyone, live entertainment, after-party food stations, and a coffee booth. Every single soul in that ballroom felt so appreciative and grateful for experiencing their wedding day, and so was I.
