Gisselle & Gabriel’s Engagement Photos in Old San Juan
Every engagement session in Old San Juan feels different, even though I have walked those cobblestone streets hundreds of times before. The magic of this city is that it constantly reinvents itself through the couples who fill it with new love stories. For Gisselle and Gabriel, it was not just another stop before their wedding; it was a homecoming of sorts.
Gabriel has deep roots in Puerto Rico, so photographing their engagement session here felt extra meaningful. For Gisselle, it was also a chance to connect with the place where they will be saying their vows. This is not only their wedding destination but also a place where many of Gabriel’s childhood memories live, and where many new ones are about to unfold.
Engagement Photos in Old San Juan
We started our afternoon at Castillo de San Cristóbal, one of my favorite spots in Old San Juan. Its massive stone walls and ocean views are a dream backdrop for photos, especially when the light hits just right. From there, we slowly wandered through the city: Calle Luna, Callejón de la Tanca, and a few quiet corners that only locals tend to find. I love engagement sessions that feel unhurried, where we can let the city guide us.
Throughout the afternoon, Gisselle and Gabriel were nothing short of joyful. They are one of those couples who make it easy to forget you are holding a camera: sweet, playful, and constantly making each other laugh. We paused for a couple of ice-cold Medallas, soaked in the golden hour breeze, and even sneaked in a bit of salsa dancing in between shots. Those in-between moments are often the ones I love most because that is when their connection truly shines.
As the sun dipped behind the colorful facades and the ocean breeze carried music through the streets, we wrapped up our session with views of La Perla, where the sound of waves met the hum of city life. It felt like the perfect ending, a blend of energy, nostalgia, and calm all at once.
So happy to be their wedding photographer this week!
This week, Gisselle and Gabriel will be saying “I do” right here in Old San Juan, and I could not be happier to be part of this next chapter of their love story. Congratulations to you both, and thank you for letting me capture the start of this incredible new season together.
Can't wait!
