Though I've visited the TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde Hotel numerous times for consultations with couples dreaming of a destination wedding in Puerto Rico, it was my first opportunity to photograph a wedding there. The experience was spectacular, unveiling an intimate, modern oasis perfect for Vanessa and José's special day. The couple celebrated all elements of their wedding day within the hotel's premises, stepping out only for their beachfront newlywed portraits during sunset at Isla Verde Beach.

While not directly on the beach, the hotel provides immediate walking access to the public Isla Verde Beach. Effortless Wedding Day in Isla Verde Beach

My day with Vanessa and José at the TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde started at their getting-ready rooms alongside videographer Joel Vega. I first visited Vanessa for detail shots as she was still in her hair & makeup process with the brilliant artist Javier Moreno.

Then I stepped out to meet José, whom we took downstairs for portraits in the spacious and well-lit lobby. Then, it was time to return to Vanessa, who had already changed into her dress and looked stunning.

After finishing the bridals, we moved upstairs to the ceremony ballroom for their ceremony. The florals by Jose from Tempus Events beautifully complemented the resort's modern and sleek look and the couple's outfits. The ceremony was beautifully personalized, with the couple exchanging custom vows and beautiful moments.

Newlywed Portraits in Isla Verde Beach

After they were declared married, we took the couple into their reception ballroom so they would enjoy a private first look at their wedding venue before guests came in. We also photographed the decor and a segment of their wedding photos before going down the elevator to the beach.

Cotton candy skies followed us as we photographed their newlywed photos at the beach, and sandy feet were totally worth it! Their very formal ballgown and tux looked so good in contrast to the beach's natural landscape! We quickly returned to the venue to the best party ever waiting for them at their reception.
