Gorgeous & Romantic Destination Beach Wedding

Sara & Rob's wedding was a last-minute booking for me. Being a Puerto Rico Photographer, I actually enjoy and embrace when I have these spontaneous opportunities, especially at a gorgeous wedding venue like Villa Montaña Beach Resort.

The nice thing about these last-minute bookings is that you get to meet and interact with the couple repeatedly over a short period. After a few phone calls, Sara's sweet personality and excitement about her wedding were evident, and I was just so excited to meet them on their big day! Their day was nothing short of perfect, and I'm happy to share this amazing wedding feature with you!

Destination Wedding at Villa Montaña Beach Resort

My day with them started at Rob's villa, where he was getting ready with his groomsmen. Everyone was in a happy, cheery mood. Since they didn't take long to get fully dressed, and the sunlight was not too harsh (for a June wedding, at least!), we went out to get some portraits in the gorgeous natural surroundings of the resort.

Then, I moved to Sara's villa, which overlooked the ceremony area. The peaceful look on her face was incredible! While she was finished with her make-up, with the help of her bridesmaids and family, I took pictures of all the special details that made her look and wedding unique.

After she got dressed, we got ready for the first look session. Their first look was exceptional, as they wanted that moment to read their custom vows in private.

I ninja'd the whole thing from afar to give the couple privacy during this intimate moment. However, their expressions revealed the beautiful promises they exchanged in that intimate moment. Minutes later, I took them for a stroll for a short photo session before the ceremony.

Multicultural Beach Wedding Ceremony Rituals - Puerto Rico Photographer

As the officiant revealed during the beautiful ceremony, Sara & Rob wanted their first act as a married couple to be in service of each other. That's why, after they were proclaimed husband and wife, they took time to do a foot-washing ritual. After that, they had a beautiful first kiss, and we were ready to celebrate! After sharing a short sunset newlywed session, the weather started getting weird, so we moved to the reception area.

It poured a storm but didn't dampen the mood and excitement for one minute. The decor was super dreamy, in a white and pink palette with accents of silver. The newlyweds honored their multicultural upbringing by naming the tables after the area's representative of their guests. As part of this incredible mix of Filipino, Libyan, New Yorker, and Puerto Rican guests, the dance floor was a blast!!

I'm so happy to be trusted with these memories; I will cherish them forever!
