Ashley and Ian got married in a truly perfect beach day. The sky was blue, the sun was bright, it was warm as usual, there were no clouds around us whatsoever, and we had the beach all to ourselves. They had a couple dozen guests fly over to Puerto Rico and it was a perfect intimate event.

Getting ready at Wyndham Grand Rio Mar

I arrived a few hours early at Ashley's bridal suite, where I met her and her family. They were having their hair and make-up done by my friend Dary Marie, which is SO talented when it comes to hairs... I love her! After capturing the details, accessories, and stationery, I gave Ashley a couple of minutes so she could finish hair and makeup, while I visited Ian at his suite. He was with his son and mother, and we did a short portrait session. Everyone was so excited and just the right amount of anxious to make it cute! I went back to Ashley's for finalizing the portraits, after which we walked down to the beach.

Especially for outdoor weddings in the Caribbean, having your individual portraits done before the ceremony, ensures the hair and make-up will be right in place. Heat and wind can sometimes do a little number, particularly on clients who are not used to tropical weather, so I always try to arrive to the getting ready to capture everything at their best. 

Sunset Beach Wedding 

The Ceremony was perfect. Very emotional and intimate, and the sound of the waves crashing in the background just had everyone in a happy mood. After the I do's were done, we quickly did the group and family portraits, so we could do newlywed portraits right before sunset.

The Reception happened at the outdoor deck right next to the beach, so as the day cooled off, we also got to experience all the stages of sunset, during the cocktail, toasts, dances, and dinner. At night, after dinner was finished, awesome DJ Eric kicked off the party, after which the dancefloor was always full.

It was a beautiful afternoon, and I'm happy I got to capture such a laid-back, happy event! Best wishes to the newlyweds.
