Beautiful Destination Wedding at Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico

Ever since I started my wedding photography business in 2009, Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico has been in my wedding venue bucket list. But since I'm mostly sought out for outdoor wedding photography, the opportunity never presented itself to me. So when I met Jackie & Chris on their wedding planning trip to Puerto Rico, and we started talking about their venue, I got super excited this was finally happening!

Jackie & Chris's wedding was a multi-location wedding, with a first look session included, so the logistics were a bit more complicated than most destination weddings. With a great team and lots of preparation, the day turned out to be very photogenic. Here's how the day went:

Wedding Getting Ready at La Concha Resort

As I do in most multi-location venues, I started the day off at Chris's suite at La Concha Resort. Usually, the groom has to be first at the first look location, so I start with his getting ready, so he's off his "photographic duties" early. In the room, it was only him and his best man, which was helping him get ready. After taking details and portraits, there was a knock on the door, as the wedding planner delivered a gift for Chris: socks in case he got cold feet, and a beautiful watch so he wouldn't be late. I love when there's a hint of humor in the gift exchanges.

Afterwards, I moved to Jackie's room. She was already done with hair and makeup so we could do an extended version of what a bridal session would be. I love doing details, but I love them more when I can use them as props for the bride's portraits. Besides the gorgeous palette and wedding stationary, I was swooning over Jackie's bridal gown. It had a beautiful 20's vibe to it.

First Look Session and Wedding Ceremony at Castillo San Cristobal

After the portraits session, we jumped in a car and moved to Castillo San Cristobal at Old San Juan. Jackie & Chris wanted to do their photos at San Cristobal, but it needed to happen before the Ceremony to have sunlight available. There was unpredictable weather that day. And the bride & groom were anxious about a delay for the Ceremony. But when they saw each other, their faces lit up; it was like all their worries went away, as they were finally together.

The Ceremony did get a bit delayed, but it happened exactly at dusk, so the sky was lit up. After a beautiful ceremony, heartwarming vows, and a very passionate kiss, we did the group & family portraits before heading to Antiguo Casino, where the reception would be taking place.

Wedding Reception at Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico

All guests were waiting for Jackie & Chris at the entrance of Antiguo Casino, sparklers in hand. A perfect way to start a beautiful, but intimate reception at the venue. So many beautiful words were said about Jackie & Chris; you could see how much they were loved. The decor was amazing, the vibe was incredible, and I'm so happy I got to be there to capture it!

Hope you love this set as much as I did! I'll also be sharing their trash the dress session soon, so stay tuned!

xo,

Cami
