A Destination Wedding at Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico

Ever since I started photographing weddings back in 2009, Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico was on my dream venue list. Its grand staircase, gleaming chandeliers, and timeless elegance make it one of the most iconic indoor wedding venues in San Juan.

Since I am popular for my outdoor celebrations, I had been patiently waiting for the right couple and the right day to finally photograph here.

That moment came when Jackie and Chris flew in on their wedding planning trip. As soon as they told me about their ceremony and reception plans, I knew this was going to be a truly special and photogenic day.

Wedding Getting Ready at La Concha Resort

The morning began at La Concha Resort, one of my favorite hotels for destination weddings in the Condado Area. I started in Chris's suite, where it was just him and his best man sharing a quiet morning. His wedding day gift from Jackie made everyone smile: socks "in case he got cold feet" and a beautiful watch so he would be right on time.

When I arrived at Jackie's room, she was already finished with hair and makeup, which gave us time for an extended bridal portrait session. Her gown had a romantic 1920s vibe, and her stationery and accessories tied together the elegant and vintage feel of the day.

First Look and Wedding Ceremony at Castillo San Cristobal

Before heading to the Antiguo Casino, Jackie and Chris wanted to take advantage of Old San Juan's historic charm for their first look session.

We chose Castillo San Cristobal for its panoramic ocean views, dramatic stone walls, and convenience, since they'd also be celebrating their wedding ceremony at the iconic landmark. The weather that day kept us on our toes, but the moment they saw each other, all their nerves melted away.

Their ceremony followed shortly after, right at dusk. The warm sky added a beautiful glow to the vows and their just-married portraits.

Wedding Reception at Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico

Guests welcomed Jackie and Chris at the Antiguo Casino with sparklers in hand. The historic ballroom glowed with romantic lighting, gold details, and floral arrangements that matched the elegance of the venue. Between heartfelt toasts, laughter, and emotional dances, you could feel the love everyone had for them.

The Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico truly lived up to its reputation; it is an unforgettable setting for a wedding in San Juan. I was grateful to finally check it off my photographer bucket list with such a warm celebration, and still to this day, after having celebrated many weddings there, including my own, I still remember their day with so much joy!
