Just the Two of Them: Elopement at Condado Vanderbilt and Old San Juan

I jumped on a phone call with Stephen a few months before their destination elopement day. He didn't have a particular plan for his wedding day. He just knew he wanted something special, relaxed, and scenic.

Choosing Puerto Rico as their Destination for the Elopement

He had come to love Puerto Rico on countless visits and wanted it to be the destination for his wedding with Beth. So we talked about elopement plans, set up a day, a timeline, and a small vendor team. And here's what happened!

Puerto Rico Beach Wedding Ceremony at Condado Vanderbilt

I arrived in the afternoon to the gorgeous Condado Vanderbilt hotel, scouted the location, and surprise! There was a big wedding happening so our original plan of getting married at one of the verandas couldn't happen. Elopements are flexible enough (and small enough) to allow for improvisation, so we moved to an outdoor beachfront terrace where we met with officiant Pablo Aymat and performed a beautiful ceremony.

After the I do's, we celebrated, and then took cover from the warm sun on the hotel until the transportation was ready for us. Walking around the hotel we stumbled upon Esteban Daniel Photography and Zura Film, who were shooting the other wedding at the hotel, and Beth, with her amazing sense of humor, released Stephen's hand and grabbed the other bride's groom as a joke. We all shared a good laugh at her witty occurrences.

Old San Juan Destination Elopement Portraits

We drove around Old San Juan, moving through several interest points in the old town. Usually, we would do this walking unless the heat or mobility were important factors, as with Beth and Stephen, who opted for the comfort of a car driving us around. We arrived back to the Condado Vanderbilt right during sunset, so we took a final walk along the beach before I left. Such a happy day! Congrats to the newlyweds. xo, Cami
