Beautiful Classic Beach Wedding at La Concha Resort

When Laura & David first contacted me, they told me they loved candid photos and that was exactly what they were looking for, instead of a more traditional, posed approach. Happily, that’s what I specialize in; I believe every couple should enjoy their days to the fullest.

Getting Ready at La Concha

The day started with David getting ready at his hotel room. His close family and groomsmen were all super excited for the wedding; they were super helpful to me while I was doing my detail shots and made the experience a fun one! After group photos were done, I took time for portraits of David alone and with his super cute kid. Their photos are some of my favorite dad & son pictures to date because they showed a very special bond.

Then I moved to the girls’ room. I opened the door and all I could say was, WOW! They were one of the most gorgeous #bridesquad ever. My heart was happy to see the Blush sequined dresses, beautiful hairdos, and gorgeous white bouquets. After Laura was done with her hair and makeup, they all shared a happy toast with a side of bubbly. We did some beautiful bridesmaid photos in the lobby of the hotel right before the ceremony.

An Emotional and Personal Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the Sereno Sand area of the hotel, which is a sand-covered deck that overlooks the ocean without being exactly on the beach. It’s conveniently located right beside the ramp to the beach in case the couple wants to take photos on the beach after the wedding (which we did). This ceremony was beautiful, filled with laughter and emotion. The officiant was a family member of the couple, and I loved it because it made the ceremony much more personal and special. After the exchange of beautiful vows, the officiant passed the mic to the David’s son, who gave the order: “Dad, you may now kiss the bride.” It was DEFINITELY one of my favorite ceremony moments ever.

After a small set of pictures on the beach and the hotel surroundings, we went up to the Salón Mirador, where they held their reception. The decor was simple and chic, beach-inspired with glittery table markers. My favorite part was the dessert station which had a lot of tropical goodies: Bien Me Sabe (meringue-topped cakes), Guava Cheesecake, Passion Fruit Tarts, and Chocolate-Covered Besitos de Coco (coconut macarons).  And yes, I just dedicated a portion of this blog post to pastries #shamelessfoodie.

The protocol featured the most emotional parts of this wedding. Everyone who did not cry during the dances, couldn’t hold back their tears after the toasts. It was beautiful to virtually feel how the room was overflowing with love for the couple, and how this love brought everyone together.

It was a beautiful event, and I’m so grateful I was chosen to capture it. I have the best job and clients, ever.

XO,

Cami
