Ever since my first interactions with Shay over e-mail, I had such a good feeling about her wedding with Jose, and I was NOT wrong!
Groom Pictures at Hacienda Azucena
On the day of the wedding, I visited Jose first. He was in his room at the Hacienda, getting ready with his boys. Jose was happy, excited, and quite nervous, although it didn’t show that much in the pictures! After sharing some laughs and snapping some pics of the men getting ready, we moved to the terrace where we captured some family pictures.
Bridal Suite pictures at Hacienda Azucena
I arrived at Shay’s bridal suite in Hacienda Azucena about an hour before the actual ceremony took place, and I was stunned. She looked fabulous, chic, and calm. Every time I see someone as serene as Shay while getting ready, it makes me think they’re feeling an absolute conviction of what they’re about to do, and that makes me swoon a little!
Breathtaking views of the Northern Coast from Hacienda Azucena
Ceremony time was up. One of my favorite places in the world to host a ceremony is at the Hacienda Azucena: you can see all of the northern coasts of Puerto Rico from the altar. Also, the sun was setting on the left side – gorgeous! Even more breathtaking than the view, was the look Jose & Shay gave each other. Although I had known them for little over an hour, the love they expressed for each other during their vows, gave us a deep understanding of their loving relationship based on support and complicity.
After we did photos during the sunset, we walked onto the terrace once again; this time it turned into a dance floor where beautiful toasts, first dances, and celebrations occurred. All of them a perfect homage to love. The day ended with a traditional Puerto Rican domino contest between Shay & Jose, which Shay won. I think this sums up how fun and casual the day felt. What a blessing to call this a job!
Thanks for having me capture such beautiful memories. Hope it’s not the last time we see each other!!!
Camille was simply divine to work with from the very minute we booked her as our wedding photographer. My maid of honor actually found her after she googled our wedding venue and stumbled upon her photographs from a recent event. We booked her over a year out from our wedding date and she was always quick to respond to all of our emails and inquiries about her services, which was helpful as we were planning our destination wedding from Virginia. Camille and her assistant made me (a VERY-nervous bride) completely comfortable in front of the camera. Her first preview photo after our wedding took our breath away so much that we knew that choosing her was the best decision we could’ve made for our big day. Her photographs came out so beautiful, and I love that her editing style keeps us looking like ourselves (read: no extreme photoshopping of peoples faces!). Camille felt more like a friend or family member, rather than just another vendor at our wedding. We are already looking forward to visiting Puerto Rico (where my husband was born and where his parents will soon retire) and having her take photographs of us as our family grows. Camille is not just an immensely talented photographer with a true gift, but an amazingly beautiful and kind human being.
