The Perfect Boho Destination Wedding at Hacienda Siesta Alegre

Today I'm going on a throwback to the beginning of 2020, which wasn't that long ago, but weren't they simpler times back then?! Stephanie and Gregory were my first couple of this year, and their wedding at dreamy Hacienda Siesta Alegre is one of my favorites to look back to. It's about time I shared it with you!

Slow and Laid-Back Wedding Day

Stephanie and Gregory didn't have a traditional wedding party, so on the hours leading to the event, the mood was really intimate and relaxed. My day started early in the afternoon, photographing the beautiful foliage decor with white and golden accents. Stephanie was getting ready at a hotel near Hacienda Siesta Alegre, so she arrived a few minutes later, hair and make-up already finished. After her bridal portraits, I moved to Gregory's suite to get those last minutes of him getting ready before going out for the reveal or first look session

Custom Vow Exchange

Stephanie and Gregory decided to share their custom promises intimately during their first look, rather than on the ceremony. I love when the couple exchange gifts, letters, or vows, during the first look. Instead of just going straight for portraits, this creates a smooth transition as this gives them an activity to do during this highly-emotional and intimate part of the day.

After they shared this intimate moment, I approached them for a short portrait session around the hacienda. We started by the iconic bridge and then moved away towards the bridal suite, as the guests began arriving.

Rainy Day Wedding at the Hacienda Siesta Alegre

As with most days at the rainforest, there was a rain forecast that day. Stephanie and Gregory didn't want to risk it, so they set up their ceremony at what usually is plan B: the roofed terrace by the bridge. I hope this wedding is enough inspiration to make your plan B as beautiful as plan A.

It didn't rain on us, but the ceremony looked so beautiful we didn't miss the regular altar. After declared husband and wife, we had their family and group formal portraits, following the second set of newlywed pictures around Hacienda Siesta Alegre. The session was so easygoing and organic that I ended my shoot early and left the happy couple with the video team. At the same time, I photographed the decor and got ready for the reception, which happened as effortlessly as the rest of the day. I had so much fun with this one, and I'm happy to share it with you. Enjoy!

Stephanie's Review

Hire Camille!!

Camille was the best photographer ever! When we started planning the wedding we knew we had to hire Camille. Her photographer was so beautiful and she was the first vendor we hired. Communication with her was also quick and helpful. On the day of she made us feel comfortable which helped us to be ourselves in the photos. We didn't even know she was there half of the time. She delivered our photos so quickly and we couldn't be happier with them. She captured the best day of our lives perfectly and we are so grateful for that.
