Autumn and Matthew’s Perfect Destination Wedding

Jaw-Dropping Hacienda Siesta Alegre Rico Destination Wedding.

From the instant I met Autumn and Matthew, I fell in love with them and their relationship, and could also understand why they loved each other so much to take that big step into marriage. Here's a bit of them and our day together.

How they Met, How we Met

Matthew and Autumn met briefly at an eating club *serendipitous*. Then they shared a deep, amazing conversation that established the ground, trust, and interest that bloomed into an amazing relationship. Autumn loves about Matthew that he's a transparent, honest, strong and kind person. He loves about her that she's smart, resilient, trustworthy woman. Coincidentally, that's exactly what captivated me the instant I met them, along with their kindness and just general goodness their souls emanate. We met over wine at Cocina Abierta, one of my favorite restaurants, during their wedding planning trip to Puerto Rico. Conversation flowed so easily: we talked about life, travels, experiences and goals for so long we almost didn't talk about their upcoming wedding!

When asked about them as a couple and what should I expect, they replied with: "we're kind of shy, but we perform well under pressure so we're optimistic for the photos." It was a phrase that I found so relatable and funny that I remember to this date.

Destination Wedding at Hacienda Siesta Alegre

It seriously looked like it would be another rainy day wedding. Instead of stressing out, Autumn and Matt kept it chill. The clouds cleared out just in time for their first look session, which was one of my recent favorites. They were just so excited, they forgot about the photos for a while. They are cool, amazing individuals, but the minute they saw each other, they were freakin' glowing with love. After their first look, we were ready for the ceremony, so we quickly moved over there and started the rituals. Their ceremony was characterized by lots of happy/excited laughter, personalized readings from loved ones, funny yet emotional custom vows, and prayer time with family members and a beautiful heirloom mantilla that's so important in weddings from Cuban descendants such as Autumn. Eventually, the minister Cory Casterton announced the first kiss as a married couple, and time stopped for a few seconds before the recessional. We moved to the library lawn area for the family and wedding party group photos. I loved the unusual turquoise bridesmaid dressed, they were an amazing pop of color along with the pink bouquets.

Newlywed Portraits During Golden Hour

After the family formals, we moved around the Hacienda Siesta Alegre for Autumn and Matthew's couple portraits, which they killed as they expected to. We were doing so great, we even had time to sit down at the hammock terrace and enjoy some candid happy photos before heading back to the reception area. Miriam Dobano outdid herself with the gold, pink and greenery reception florals. It was just too beautiful, as I'm used to photographing Hacienda Siesta Alegre with rather minimal arrangements (it doesn't need much to look beautiful, but amazing decor is always welcome!) The protocol started with the newlyweds' first dance, in which they called everyone to come to join them, and they did! DJ Joel and I exchanged happy looks from the distance: we knew we'd have a great party that night, as their first dance looked like out from a tv ad. Afterward came the toasts, and ever since the beautiful words of love and affirmation, to the general vibe of everyone throughout the night... you could easily see how much love people felt for A&M, and how many lives they have touched with their kindness. I raise an imaginary glass to the eternal happiness of the newlyweds! xo, Cami

Autumn's Review

The BEST Photographer in Puerto Rico!

Camille was the first vendor we booked after deciding to get married in Puerto Rico. Her work was one of the biggest factors in our deciding to have a destination wedding at Hacienda Siesta Alegre. From the first phone call, I knew her presence would be calming and that she would help us to feel comfortable on our wedding day. Her booking system was simple and easy to use, she completes all tasks early, and is simply a joy to work with. Despite the weather and our running behind schedule on the day of, Camille was able to take every picture we wanted and then some. Looking back on our wedding day, it was magical, and that is in large part to Camille’s beautiful photos!
