Originally an engagement portrait session days before their wedding, the wedding week's stress got to them. Because of this, we couldn't have their photos done until after the wedding, as we agreed to switch their engagement photos to a newlywed session instead.
The results were -as you can see- extraordinary! They were SO relaxed, dripping honey, smiley, just laughing at each other's faces, and looked 100% natural in each and every single image. I loved being their photographer for their Puerto Rico beach destination wedding. Still, I fell in love with them on that Sunday morning, on what basically was their first day as husband and wife.
When is it a good time for scheduling the engagement photos?
I'm happy with performing the session at any time during your wedding timeline. However, I've found that there's a sweet spot for engagement photos. Sparks happen during the first 3 months after the engagement, or anytime before the last two months before the wedding. As we approach the wedding day, there are just too many things on a couple's mind. It only makes the photo session an extra wedding chore, so I no longer recommend doing engagement photoshoots on the wedding week.
