Romantic Destination Wedding at Hacienda Siesta Alegre

If there is one venue in Puerto Rico that stops you in your tracks the moment you arrive, it is Hacienda Siesta Alegre. Tucked into the island's lush landscape, this hacienda-style estate has a way of making everything feel intentional — the arched doorways, the bougainvillea climbing the stone walls, the open-air ceremony space framed by towering trees.

For couples planning a destination wedding in Puerto Rico, it is the kind of place that does not need much decorating. It arrives already dressed.

Naeli and Jorge's wedding day was exactly that kind of beautiful. A semi-formal celebration in shades of pink, it felt personal from start to finish — from the quiet getting-ready moments in the bridal suite to a ceremony that wove in rituals that truly meant something to them, all the way through a reception full of dancing, toasts, and the kind of joy that fills a whole room.

Why Couples Choose Hacienda Siesta Alegre for Their Puerto Rico Wedding

Hacienda Siesta Alegre is one of Puerto Rico's most sought-after wedding venues, and it is easy to see why once you spend a day there behind a camera. The estate offers multiple distinct spaces that flow naturally from one part of the day to the next — a bridal suite for getting ready, a library for the groom and his party, open garden areas for portraits, a stone pergola ceremony space, and a covered reception area with terracotta floors and string lights overhead. Every corner photographs beautifully and gives couples room to move through their day without feeling rushed or cramped.

For destination couples especially, that built-in variety matters. Naeli and Jorge flew in from out of the island and had the full Hacienda Siesta Alegre experience — getting ready on-site, taking their portraits through the grounds, exchanging vows under the pergola, and celebrating into the night without ever needing to leave. As Naeli shared after their wedding day, the experience was perfect from start to finish, and what stood out most was how calm and supported she felt throughout.

Getting Ready in the Bridal Suite

Naeli's getting ready began at 1pm in the hacienda's bridal suite. The room set the tone for everything that followed — crystal chandeliers, sheer white curtains, arched windows, and warm wood floors. The details were all in shades of pink: bridesmaid robes, bouquets of garden roses, delicate lace garters. Jorge and his groomsmen got ready separately in the Library, a space with just as much character, all exposed beams and archways that made for easy, natural portraits.

A First Look Before the Ceremony

Naeli and Jorge chose to do a First Look before the ceremony so they could spend the cocktail hour with their guests — a decision that always pays off in terms of both connection and portraits. Their first look happened at 3:30pm on the grounds of Hacienda Siesta Alegre, and the moment Jorge turned around was everything you hope for.

After that initial rush of emotion settled, we moved through the estate for their wedding portraits, working through garden archways draped in bougainvillea, tiled corridors, and the hacienda's signature stone balcony.

An Outdoor Ceremony Full of Meaning

The ceremony began at 4pm under the hacienda's open-air pergola, its carved stone columns wrapped in white drapery and flanked by arrangements of white hydrangeas and blush roses. Rose petals lined the aisle. A live guitarist played as guests took their seats on wooden benches facing the garden.

What made this ceremony stand out were the rituals Naeli and Jorge wove into their vows. The foot washing ceremony — a symbolic act of humility and service — was one of the most moving moments of the day, made even more so by the fact that both sets of parents participated. It drew the kind of quiet from a crowd that means everyone in the room understands they are watching something real.

The Reception at Hacienda Siesta Alegre

By the time the reception began at 6pm, the hacienda had transformed. String lights glowed overhead across the covered reception terrace, and the sweetheart table was dressed in lace runners, white birdcage centerpieces, and the same blush and coral florals that had carried through the whole day. The wedding cake — three tiers of white with fresh roses cascading down — sat on a barrel table in the garden nearby.

The night moved the way good receptions do: toasts from parents and the wedding party, Naeli and Jorge making their way to each table to greet their guests, and a first dance that ended in a dip that brought the room to life. By the end of the night, no one wanted to leave — which is really the best thing you can say about any wedding venue.

Naeli's Review

Our experience was PERFECT from start to finish. The booking process was a breeze, and she was kind enough to tailor the package to our needs. She was also ready and willing to meet with me when I went to Puerto Rico a month before the wedding to make sure all my bases were covered. On the day of the wedding her calmness and constant smile provided me with support in the midst of all the craziness that was happening around us with our family. The pictures came out BEAUTIFUL! I never grow tired of looking at them or the album. Camille was and is the best!
