I met Sarah and Tomas, and Sarah's parents at the end of 2017, when we met during their Puerto Rico Destination Wedding planning trip to the Island Our meeting was mainly talking about timeline recommendations for their wedding day. I instantly loved their shy but friendly personalities and was very excited to shoot their big day.

Puerto Rico Destination Wedding at Hacienda Siesta Alegre

I got to the hacienda a few hours before the ceremony to capture the getting ready part. Sarah and the bridesmaids were staying at a hotel in San Juan, and they caught a bit of traffic, so that gave us more time than usual for Tomas and his groomsmen. It was a very bright and sunny day, so we went out for a few portraits.

Eventually, Sarah and the ladies arrived, and I captured beautiful getting ready photos. I loved how detail-oriented Sarah was.

Destination Wedding First Look

After she was ready, we brought Tomas over for their First Look session. I loved how Sarah and Tomas's faces lit up the instant they were finally together. After the first look, we took a few minutes for couple portraits and video until it was time for us to join the guests at the ceremony area.

Newlywed Portraits at Sunset

After the ceremony and the group portraits, we walked around the hacienda for the second set of newlywed pictures. This time, on better lighting, since we were closer to sunset. These portraits are some of my recent favorites, and I'm so happy I'm finally sharing them with you. Minutes before the reception I went around the tables to capture the pure, botanical decor they had set up on the reception area, after which the protocol started with a beautiful choreographed first dance by the newlyweds. After dinner, we had an amazingly fun party that not even the rain could stop; there was dancing, pleneros, shots, and even a sparkler exit.
