Intimate and Romantic Destination Wedding at Hacienda Siesta Alegre

I met Kate and Stephen on their wedding day. Sometimes this could be a challenge because, as a photographer, I need to break the ice to deliver happy, beautiful images of the clients that look happy and comfortable. However, with Kate & Stephen, this was not a problem!

They did not want an extensive getting ready coverage, so I got to my favorite venue Hacienda Siesta Alegre, about an hour and a half before the Ceremony time. Before going into the rooms, I did the first round of decor pictures, as the daylight floods the tables with beautiful, soft light. The decor was mostly white hues with bright magenta and lilac accents, which gave it a modern and tropical look.

Getting Ready Photos before the Ceremony

I first visited Kate in her bridal suite. I loved her soft, romantic details. From the dress to the flowers, to her bridal style, everything was put together for a delicate look. I also loved how classy her bridesmaids looked in black, knee-length dresses.

A few minutes before the Ceremony, I met with Stephen, as he was ready for photos with his groomsmen. We did a couple of fun portraits both solo and with his friends before heading out to the altar.

The Ceremony was beautiful. Both Kate and Stephen are gifted writers, as they were able to express their love and commitment in the most beautiful and inspiring words. They had such a calming and happy vibe, and everyone, including the wedding staff, was mesmerized during the whole ceremony.

Family and Newlywed Photos Around the Hacienda

It was a cloudy/overcast day, and while we were lucky it didn't rain, we got the softest light conditions possible during the portrait session, which I love! After the Ceremony ended, we walked out to the reception area to do group portraits quickly before the newlywed photos.

After that, I did the second round of decor photos before a beautiful, emotive and happy reception started. Sometimes I judge the crowd based on the couple's personality. And since Kate and Stephen had the appearance of being a bit introverted, I was stunned when the party started, and everyone rushed to the dancefloor. What a party!

I'm so grateful to work with such amazing couples week after week. They truly make, a somewhat stressful job, so smooth and delightful to do.

Xo,
Cami
