Family Portrait Session in Flamenco Beach, Culebra
A few weeks after being booked for the amazing Culebra family portrait session that turned out to be a surprise proposal, I got an inquiry for Shannon & Pedro's family vacation photos in Flamenco Beach (Located in Culebra, Puerto Rico). I couldn't believe they were for the same weekend, so this time I would be able to not only pack a trip to Culebra with a lot of beach time but also photoshoots!
Strike One: Rainy Day
When I arrived on Friday afternoon to their beach apartment in Flamenco Beach, it was raining cats and dogs. I didn't want to cancel our appointment, so I still drove to them in hopes that we could wait until the rain stopped.
It didn't look like it would, so I did a photo set indoors on the balcony and terrace areas. It was cute but wasn't quite what we wanted. So we scheduled a second shoot for the next morning.
I always recommend not overbooking activities during vacation time, especially if you're interested in having a vacation photoshoot while on your trip. Since Shannon and Pedro booked their session with enough time for postponements, we didn't miss our opportunity to work together.
Flamenco Beach Family Photos - Culebra, Puerto Rico
We woke up early, and the day looked perfect, so this time we walked down to Flamenco Beach, first with Shannon and Pedro, while the kids finished getting ready. Then we walked alongside the coast with its iconic white sand and turquoise waters scenery, having some family fun and happy memories captured together.
I'm so happy we were able to do this, and also, that those three teenagers were willing to wake up early in the morning for our second attempt at portraits. You don't get that every day. I'm a lucky photographer!
